A little about me…
Resume
My areas of expertise include eating disorders, body image, trauma, and adolescent and family therapy. My therapeutic work focuses on the whole person including their cultural, emotional, physical, familial, spiritual and financial background.
What I Believe
I believe that a tremendous amount of change is possible through therapy, and I believe that people can heal and have a better life. I feel this strongly. My beliefs are grounded in my own experiences and my faith in the process of healing. I truly believe in an individual’s capacity for change, and I hold this hope for all my clients.
Although I am a very serious clinician, I firmly believe in laughter as a critical element of the healing process. I laugh with my clients and try to help them to find the humor in their lives.
My approach
I am present and non-judgmental as I help clients navigate their way through their life experiences. I take a strengths-based approach as I recognize the strengths in my clients and their families and steer away from pathologizing people and their situation. I do this work because I truly love it, and I have a lot of energy and patience with my clients.
I am Level-One trained in Internal Family Systems (IFS) and am also trained in Family Based Therapy (FBT) as well as Health at Every Size. I utilize DBT, CBT, IFS, and ACT in all my work. I would say that I am an eclectic therapist who uses different treatment approaches based on the needs of the individual, couple and/or family.
If you think I would be a good fit for you, please reach out and we can discuss further.
